Watch as Milan looked to take advantage of Inter‘s draw with Atalanta, but fell just short following a late winner by Emmanuel Gyasi, despite Rafael Leao’s strong performance.

Serie A | Milan 1-2 Spezia: Rossoneri upset following late winner

The Portuguese midfielder has been one of the standout stars in Stefano Pioli’s squad this season and things were no different this evening at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, but his work was not enough to secure the three points for the Rossoneri.

Referee Marco Serra has come under fire for his decision-making in the game, with the most notable incident being when he denied Milan a late winner after blowing his whistle too early for a free kick, failing to play the advantage.

  1. Spezia rode their luck – and they had plenty of it. Not sure if the ref’s mistake was that bad. He should have waited a few seconds longer before blowing but everything is happening so fast – he saw a foul and so he stopped play. It was lucky for Spezia but unlucky for Milan that the subsequent goal then didn’t count. But play had stopped so it couldn’t count.
