Italy are in the UEFA EURO 2020 Final against England, but Serie A has already won the tournament thanks to 36 goals from its players, compared to 29 from the Premier League.

The Final kicks off at Wembley Stadium on Sunday at 20.00 UK time.

Curiously, the Golden Boot for this competition will go to ‘Own Goal’, as there were a record 11 different strikes scored by players bundling the ball into their own net.

As for the other 129 goals at the Euros, 36 were scored by Serie A players, with Atalanta coming out on top as the most prolific club.

The Premier League follows with 29 goals, then the Bundesliga clubs with 28.

Spain’s La Liga only contributed nine goals, Ligue 1 provided seven and the Portuguese league three.

Leagues in Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Croatia and England’s Championship second division contributed two goals each.

Turkey, Hungary, Scotland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Chinese clubs provided one goal each.
