Lorenzo Pellegrini will return to Roma‘s starting XI against Alberto Gilardino and Mateo Retegui’s Genoa.

It kicks off at 19:45 BST at Marassi and it’s a must-win for the Giallorossi who have only one victory in the opening five league matches this season.

Tammy Abraham, Marash Kumbulla, Renato Sanches and Chris Smalling are injured, but Pellegrini is expected to return to the starting XI, joining Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Leonardo Spinazzola is favourite over Nicola Zalewski on the left wing, while Bryan Cristante is expected to start his seventh consecutive game this season. The Italian midfielder has played every minute in Serie A and Europa League so far.

Gilardino’s Genoa have four points in five matches having collected one win, one draw and three defeats so far.

Alessandro Vogliacco is injured for Il Grifone, while Martin is suspended. Former Milan winger Junior Messias returns to action but is expected to start on the bench.
