Reinier earned Frosinone a creditable point at Marassi, but they wanted more against high-flying Genoa and had stoppage-time penalty drama.
The Grifone remained comfortably mid-table after holding Juventus to a goalless draw, missing Caleb Ekuban, Aaron Martin and Alan Matturro. The Canarini plummeted into the relegation zone after one win and three draws in 16 rounds. Anthony Oyono, Riccardo Marchizza, and Abdoui Harroui were still on the treatment table.

The hosts had a huge double opportunity in the opening 10 minutes on a corner, as first the Johan Vasquez header thumped the crossbar, then Stefano Sabelli’s follow-up from close range was acrobatically palmed away by Stefano Turati.
Genoa were awarded a penalty when Albert Gudmundsson surged forward and was sandwiched between two defenders, Caleb Okoli making the sliding tackle that was considered to be a foul. The Iceland international converted himself, low and hard into the near bottom corner.
Matias Soule twice got the finish all wrong after a good move, but played a part in the equaliser, sending Nadir Zortea down the right, where the pull-back found Reinier unmarked to sweep in from nine yards.
Frosinone nearly turned it around completely moments later, Marco Brescianini stinging Michele Di Gregorio’s gloves.
Mateo Retegui went off after spraining his ankle in an accidental coming together with Okoli and Frosinone wanted a penalty for the risky Alessandro Vogliacco sliding tackle on Walid Cheddira.
There were more problems for Genoa, as Ruslan Malinovskyi seemed to pull a hamstring and Junior Messias saw his curler skim the far post.
Soule fired over from a tricky angle after a quick combination down the right and Vogliacco’s header was not far off.
Genoa 1-1 Frosinone
