Andrea Belotti will start for Fiorentina against Genoa as Mbala Nzola is injured, but Vincenzo Italiano will rotate ahead of Thursday’s key Conference League game against Viktoria Plzen.
It kicks off at 17:00 UK time (GMT+1) at the Stadio Franchi in Florence.
Nzola is the only unavailable player for the Tuscans who meet their ex-striker Alberto Gilardino, one of the candidates to replace Italiano in 2024-25.
There are still a few doubts regarding the Tuscans’ starting XI, especially in defence and midfield. Michael Kayode is the favourite over Dodo, and Nikola Milenkovic is expected to rest. Alfred Duncan and Rolando Mandragora are likely to start in central midfield, but Giacomo Bonaventura, Arthur, and Maxime Lopez are also pushing for a starting spot.
With Belotti starting, Lucas Beltran could go on the bench, making room for Antonin Barak.
Genoa are without Alan Matturro, Vitinha and Ruslan Malinovskyi, but Italy international Mateo Retegui returns after serving a one-match ban against Hellas Verona last week.
