Cremonese welcome Cagliari to the Stadio Giovanni Zini this evening in what is expected to be a tight mid-table battle.

The match kicks off at 17:30 GMT (18:30 local time) in Cremona.

Cremonese come into the match in 13th place, with a relatively mixed start to life in Italy’s top flight after their promotion from Serie B last season.

Davide Nicola’s side have put in some industrious performances so far this campaign and a win tonight could see them move up into 11th place.

Cagliari, meanwhile, sit 3 points behind their opposition tonight but just one place behind them in the league table.

A win for Cagliari would see them leapfrog Cremonese, and go eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Therefore, it is an important three points for both sides and the loser risks getting bogged down in the battle for survival.
