Udinese wasted a golden opportunity to win this at the death with Gerard Deulofeu, while Cremonese’s Cristian Buonaiuto was only denied by an astonishing save.

The Friulani saw their nine-match unbeaten run ended by a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Torino, while the newly-promoted hosts were still looking for their first win. Ionut Radu was still out and replaced by Marco Carnesecchi, with Vlad Chiriches also not fully fit. Rodrigo Becao joined Adam Masina on the treatment table.

Watch the highlights here.

Carnesecchi was immediately called into action, sticking out a foot for a reaction save on Gerard Deulofeu and then Sandi Lovric, but Cyriel Dessers limped off injured.

Another Deulofeu ball across the face of goal failed to find a teammate to tap in, while David Okereke’s header was straight at the goalkeeper.

Jaka Bijol was robbed in the box, but made up for it with a desperate block on Cristian Buonaiuto.

There was a huge opportunity after the restart, as Buonaiuto did everything well with a stepover and cut inside, the curler was heading into the far top corner, but Marco Silvestri flew for a stunning fingertip save.

Buonaiuto also curled a free kick over the bar, while Carnesecchi denied Lazar Samardzic from the edge of the box on a Deulofeu assist.

Udinese wasted an extraordinary opportunity to win it with the last kick of the game, as Samardzic went on the counter from his own penalty area and set up Deulofeu only for the Spanish veteran to blast over the bar.
