The Italian Football Federation has changed the COVID-19 protocol with more rapid tests and shorter periods of isolation.

It was announced on the official FIGC website that the modifications have been made to facilitate the completion of the season in Serie A, B, C and women’s football.

They will all have access to rapid COVID-19 tests, which give results both 48 hours before games, but can also be done the same day as a match if there are some positive cases in a squad and his teammates need the all-clear.

In the same vein, the protocol is also changed, so players and members of staff who are infected no longer need to stay in quarantine for an entire 14-day period.

That is now closed to 10 days for those who had symptoms, but only three days and a negative test for those who are asymptomatic.
