Randal Kolo Muani scored a great solo goal and converted a late penalty to give Juventus all three points away to unlucky Como, with Lloyd Kelly also making his debut.

The Bianconeri had dropped to sixth place in Serie A and revamped their squad in the transfer window, again starting Kolo Muani and Renato Veiga, as Andrea Cambiaso, Pierre Kalulu, Arek Milik, Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal were still out of action. Nobody was busier than Como mid-season, so Ivan Smolcic got his debut, but Alieu Fadera started a two-match ban with Sergi Roberto, Alberto Moreno, Dele Alli, Alessandro Gabrielloni, Daniele Baselli, Marc Oliver Kempf and new buys Ivan Azon and Mergim Vojvoda out of action.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

It was a bright start from the hosts and Michele Di Gregorio got down for a great fingertip save to push the low Nico Paz effort out of the far bottom corner from the edge of the area.

The Juve goalkeeper also palmed a long-range Lucas Da Cunha effort over the bar, but the visitors took the lead with their first chance of the game.

Tim Weah robbed Gabriel Strefezza to spark a counter, where Nico Gonzalez sent Kolo Muani down the right, he shimmied past Alberto Dossena and blasted it into the roof of the net from the tightest of angles. This was his fourth goal in just three Serie A appearances.

On the stroke of half-time, Como got a deserved equaliser when a corner was not cleared effectively and Patrick Cutrone was stronger in the tackle that Teun Koopmeiners, crossing for the Assane Diao free header from four yards.

Thiago Motta introduced former Newcastle United defender Lloyd Kelly for his debut as a left-back after the break, as Nicolò Savona was on a yellow card.

Straight after the restart, Federico Gatti’s error allowed Diao through with a roll across for Nico Paz, forcing Di Gregorio to parry with an outstretched boot.

Strefezza also took on Kelly down the right and stung Di Gregorio’s gloves with a powerful cross-shot, while Nico Gonzalez bent a left-foot curler wide.

Como were so unlucky, as Ignacio van der Brempt made his comeback from injury and five minutes later limped off again.

Tasos Douvikas made his debut and had penalty appeals rejected, as Gatti seemed to graze the ball with his fingertips when putting an arm across the Como striker’s chest, but VAR evaluated and decided to recommend no On-Field Review.

Instead, the penalty was awarded to Juve when Jean Butez got it very wrong on the free kick and punched Gatti in the head. Kolo Muani took command of the ball and swept it in with the inside of the right boot, sending Butez the wrong way.

Como kept pushing, a Dossena looping header from a corner bouncing off the top of the crossbar.
