According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma were the best Serie A clubs in the January transfer window, while Hellas Verona deeply weakened their squad.

The winter transfer window ended on February 1 and Friday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper rated the work done by Serie A clubs during the last month of negotiation.

Roma were valued as the best-performing club during the January transfer window thanks to the signings of Angeliño, Tommaso Baldanzi and Dean Huijsen. The Giallorossi were rated 7.5/10 for their activity in the January transfer window, conducted by departing director Tiago Pinto who will leave the club as early as tomorrow.

Roma owners decided against extending his contract and will appoint a new director shortly.

On the other hand, Hellas Verona were rated 4.5 and were the most disappointing team in the winter transfer window, according to CorSport.

It’s hardly surprising given that the Gialloblu, who are already struggling in the relegation zone, level on points with Udinese and Cagliari. Verona sold 13 players, including regular starters Cyril Ngonge, Filippo Terracciano, Milan Djuric, Marco Davide Faraoni, Isak Hien and Josh Doig, and signed vastly inexperienced players for Serie A football.

‘They must rely on a miracle from coach Marco Baroni’ to survive, wrote Il Corriere dello Sport.
