Clubs will be asked to sign a document before registering for the 2024-25 Serie A season confirming they will not join the Super League.

The EU Court of Justice ruling stated that UEFA cannot punish clubs for trying to set up their own separate competition, but it does not necessarily cover the various national leagues.

They can still set their own rules and the Lega Serie A has come down strongly against the prospect of a new Super League project.

The new system was drawn up to register clubs for the 2024-25 Serie A season and Calcio e Finanza claim the documentation includes a clause pledging not to join any ‘competition organised by private associations that are not recognised by FIFA, by UEFA or by the FIGC.’

If they fail to sign this document, the clubs will not be granted a licence and therefore cannot register to compete in the 2024-25 Serie A season.

The only Serie A teams who had originally been invited to the Super League were Juventus – one of the founding members – Inter and Milan.

  1. Depends what type of league people want:

1: The Super League run by greed.
2: The Seria A run by clowns.

  2. @Ale
    Greedy clowns.

UEFA most likely pressured Serie A into doing this, which makes the ruling of the EU Court meaningless.
