Serie A Highlights: Bologna 3-0 Lazio

The Aquile were finally flying after winning the Derby delle Capitale, but lost Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni to injury, so Vedat Muriqi started upfront. Bologna were in crisis after one point from three games, including heavy defeats to Inter and Empoli, so Sinisa Mihajlovic switched to a 3-4-2-1 formation, missing Jerdy Schouten and Nicola Sansone.

The hosts took the lead with a spectacular solo effort from Musa Barrow, as he gathered a long ball down the left, cut inside Luiz Felipe and curled an unstoppable right-foot finish into the far top corner from the edge of the box.

Moments later, Barrow curled a corner kick to the far post where Arthur Theate was allowed practically a free header for 2-0.

Muriqi prodded straight at Lukasz Skorupski from close range after good work from Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson, but it was Bologna who added a third.

Aaron Hickey cut inside Manuel Lazzari and hit it low and hard from just inside the area on another Barrow assist, but it squirmed under Pepe Reina’s body at the near bottom corner. It was the Scottish left-back’s second goal of the season.

To make matters worse, Francesco Acerbi was booked for a foul, argued with the referee, realised he’d said gone too far and tried to apologise, but it was too late and he received a second yellow moments later. It means he will be suspended against Inter after the break for international duty.
