Lukasz Skorupski needed two spectacular saves in quick succession on corners under the bar, first on a ferocious Wilfried Singo volley from the edge of the box, then on Koffi Djidji’s header.

Mattias Svanberg’s effort was deflected over by Ricardo Rodriguez, but after the restart Josip Brekalo’s strike thumped the upright after Bologna were caught in possession.

Tommaso Pobega mis-timed the header with only Skorupski to beat, while Singo’s dangerous ball flashed across the face of goal with nobody able to get the tap-in from six yards.
