Follow all the updates live as the Serie A betting scandal continues to expand and evolve following yesterday’s revelations.

Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli admitted to placing bets on an illegal platform to investigators yesterday and willingly handed over his mobile phone to police, something that increased the scope of the scandal. The 22-year-old is allegedly over €1m in debt due to his serious gambling addiction.

Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and Aston Villa’s Nicolo Zaniolo were both questioned by police at Italy’s training camp in Coverciano last night for suspected involvement. Both then withdrew from the squad, forcing Luciano Spalletti to call up Samuele Ricci and Stephan El Shaarawy to replace them.

La Repubblica reported today that at least 10 other Serie A players – including another at Juventus – are allegedly involved in the scandal, which could lead to a ban of up to three years. The suspension can be reduced should those involve cooperate.
