Italy international Federico Bernardeschi is convinced that both Roma and Serie A will benefit from Paulo Dybala’s decision to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dybala rejected a €25-year salary offer from Al-Qadsiah and decided to stay at Roma until the end of his contract in June 2025. He has an option to automatically extend until 2026 if he makes a certain number of appearances with Roma this season.

Roma fans were beyond delighted to learn that their idol would not leave and even thanked him at his home last week.

Paulo Dybala: More loved by fans than by his clubs?

“The affection that Roma gives you is special,” said Bernardeschi, a former teammate of Dybala at Juventus.

“By deciding to stay at Roma, the fans will love him even more, and Serie A will benefit.”

However, the Giallorossi have earned just one point in the opening two Serie A games and will meet Thiago Motta’s Juventus in Turin in the next round.

“I don’t expect a different attitude from Juventus. I think they’ll face all the opponents in the same way. A little bit like Man City do.”

During the same interview, Bernardeschi also discussed Federico Chiesa’s move to Liverpool and Thiago Motta’s impact at the Allianz Stadium.
