Atalanta are hoping to stay in the thick of the fight for a European finish with a win over an out-of-form Empoli.
The match between la Dea and the Azzurri kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
Things have been a little rough for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side recently, with the team failing to win their last four consecutive league outings. Atalanta have started to lose ground in the race for a Champions League finish and currently sit six points behind fourth place Milan, putting pressure on the team to turn things around in Bergamo quickly.
Atalanta cannot count on Teun Koopmeiners, Hans Hateboer and Berat Djimsiti, all of whom are out injured. Duvan Zapata is still recovering from an injury and may be forced to stay on the bench for the clash.
Empoli have not tasted victory since their unexpected 1-0 win over Inter in late January, having dropped points in their last seven Serie A games. The Tuscan side sit nine points clear of relegation candidates Hellas Verona and seem set to stay up in the topflight for another year.
The Azzurri are without the injured Guglielmo Vicario and Nicolo Cambiaghi, both sidelined with injuries.
