La Dea were still missing Duvan Zapata, Hans Hateboer and suspended Marten de Roon, but the visitors had Jerdy Schouten and Roberto Soriano sitting out bans after their red cards in the 3-2 win over Salernitana.

Riccardo Orsolini missed a sitter in the opening minutes, shinning the finish at the back post.

Serie A Highlights: Atalanta 0-0 Bologna

Ruslan Malinovskyi skimmed the woodwork, while Lukasz Skorupski parried a Robin Gosens effort and Aaron Hickey prevented Josip Ilicic turning in the rebound.

Berat Djimsiti risked an own goal with his header on Nicola Sansone’s cross and Gary Medel was booked for an ugly clash with Gosens.

Atalanta began to step up the pressure in the second half, with Luis Muriel hitting the side-netting and Kingsley throwing himself in the way of Malinovskyi’s strike.

Gosens really should’ve done better when firing off target as a loose ball fell to his feet and Atalanta had penalty appeals rejected for a potential Lorenzo De Silvestri handball.

Skorupski was at full stretch to fingertip a floated Joakim Maehle cross-shot away, Matteo Pessina curled wide in stoppages and Roberto Piccoli couldn’t quite reach the flicked-on corner at full stretch.
