Lega Serie A have officially announced the start and end dates of the upcoming 2023-24 season, confirming a return to normality.

The ongoing 2022-23 season diverged from normal scheduling due to the winter World Cup in Qatar, forcing leagues around Europe to take a six-week international break. Serie A started a little earlier in August and will end a little later at the beginning of June. Italian clubs are now working on training retreats and friendlies ahead of the return of the league, scheduled for January 4.

As announced by Lega Serie A, the 2023-24 season will start on Sunday August 20 2023 and will end on Sunday May 26 2024, confirming that the schedule will mostly return to normal.

The schedule will be a welcome sight for coaches across Serie A, who have been forced to deploy their players constantly due to the packed schedule of this season. Injuries were a common theme in the run up to the World Cup in Qatar, with many pointing to the high number of games played over the last two years.
