Former Milan full-back Serginho believes the Rossoneri have been ‘unlucky’ this season, and backs them to bounce back.

Filippo Inzaghi’s side are currently in the bottom-half of the Serie A table, and are closer to relegated Parma than to champions Juventus.

“It’s not been a lucky season for Milan,” Serginho told Milan Channel.

“All of the fans expected something more. Football is unfortunately like that, it happens to all the big clubs and it’s happened to Milan.

“However there are some intelligent people that work for the good of Milan and they will find a way to create a side up to the standards seen in previous years.”

Serginho won two Champions League titles and the Scudetto in his nine years playing at left-back for the Diavolo, and gave his opinion on current incumbent Luca Antonelli.

“It’s a shame that he has picked up an injury, he was starting to find his form. I remember him because he trained with us when he was in the youth team.

“It’s hard to form an opinion of a player when the team is struggling, but I believe that if he is in a team that is able to develop a consistent playing style then he can become a regular down the left flank."
