Newly-promoted Como are hoping to close a deal with free agent and former Barcelona vice-captain Sergi Roberto, who left the LaLiga giants after 18 years this summer.
Como negotiating with Sergi Roberto
According to updates from Sky Sport Italia, Como are in constant contact with Roberto and are negotiating over a possible two-year contract. Intermediaries are currently at work to find a solution.
The 32-year-old made 373 appearances in just over 11 seasons with the senior squad at Barca, with 245 of those coming in LaLiga. He has seven league titles, six domestic cups, two champions leagues, a Club World Cup and a UEFA Super Cup title on his CV.
Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio add that Como are also interested in signing 21-year-old Argentina midfielder Maxi Perrone from Manchester City.
Como have made a number of big-name signings so far this summer, adding former Real Madrid and Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane to their ranks, plus former Liverpool duo Pepe Reina and Alberto Moreno.
Andrea Belotti has also joined the attacking ranks, with Cesc Fabregas leading the team from the dugout.
Como were, however, dealt somewhat of a reality check on their first Serie A match of the 2024-25 season, losing 3-0 away to Juventus in Thiago Motta’s first game in charge.
