Rumours about a reunion with Antonio Conte at the Giuseppe Meazza has been covered in depth by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Serena, who helped the Nerazzurri to the Scudetto in 1988-89, said the former Juventus coach can make Pogba ‘decisive again’.

“It’s true that Paul’s development stopped a bit compared to his years with Juventus, but he’s a player of the highest level, who combines power and quality,” Serena told the newspaper.

“He’s in the middle of his career, at 27 he can give a lot and if he finds the right coach, which for me is Conte, he can become decisive again.

“From a technical point of view, I say that the team that can get him will make a great signing. Of course, then there’s the discussion of salary.”

But Serena played down the suggestions that Pogba would be the missing piece to bring the Scudetto back to Inter.

“I don’t know because I expect a transfer market of a high level at Juventus too. But I’m sure that with the Frenchman, Conte would make a nice leap.”
