Young Boys Coach Gerardo Seoane insists he’d rather Juventus had Cristiano Ronaldo available – “it would have been nice for us to face him”.

The Swiss side are in Turin to face the Bianconeri in tomorrow’s Champions League game, but CR7 is suspended after being sent off against Valencia.

“We’re sad that Ronaldo isn’t there, it’s the same for any injured or suspended player,” Seoane said in his pre-match Press conference.

“It would have been nice for us to face him on the pitch, but if Ronaldo doesn’t play then another champion will because Juventus have good alternatives in every area.

“It would have been nice to see him on the pitch though.”

Seoane was asked if his side are nervous about taking on one of the favourites to win the competition.

“The team is always focused, every game. We know that every day presents a new challenge and different opponents to face.

“The players are very focused and I think the atmosphere can help a lot with that.

“It’s a different situation [to Manchester United], we’re away for this one and there’s a big difference.

“It’s our first Champions League and we know there isn’t much room for mistakes. We must always perform well, always make the right choices, and be attentive in both attack and defence.

“Of course we know that the opponent matters too, so it’ll be a very difficult game.

“[Jordan] Lotomba has been injured for some time and is unavailable, and also Kevin Mbabu is out for this game, unfortunately.”
