Italy secured back-to-back 2-0 wins in the World Cup Qualifiers and the Nerazzurri midfielder was happy to get 68 minutes for the Azzurri in the second match.

“I’m very happy because it was a long time since I last played and I got a lot of minutes,” Sensi told RAI Sport.

“I must thank the coach for the faith he has shown me.

“With lots of games in a short period there’s an increased risk of fatigue and tiredness, but I think we showed great character against Bulgaria.

“We’ve won a lot of games in a row and this certainly means something.”

The former Sassuolo player has struggled with injuries since he moved to Inter in 2019 but secured a permanent deal last summer.

But the 25-year-old has been stopped by muscle problems this term too and has only started once in Serie A for Antonio Conte’s side this campaign.
