Leonardo Semplici believes SPAL ‘absolutely deserved’ their vital 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Verona.
Although the Biancazzurri fell behind early on, an own goal by Mohamed Fares and strikes by Felipe dal Belo and Jasmin Kurtic gave the Ferrara side a potentially priceless three points.
It means that with three matches remaining in the season, SPAL are a point clear of the drop zone with their destiny in their own hands.

“It is three important points, especially considering the match started badly,” Semplici told reporters post-match.
“We deservedly equalised at the end of the first half, then in the second half we absolutely deserved to win.
“The boys showed their quality and claimed a very important victory.
“This should give us the belief we can stay up. We have three more very difficult matches waiting for us.”
