SPAL boss Leonardo Semplici has assured that he is ‘stronger and more determined than before’ after undergoing emergency surgery.

Semplici returned home on Monday after a week in hospital, where he had an operation to remove an intestinal blockage, and the Coach was grateful for the ‘support and affection’ he received.

Semplici returned home on Monday after a week in hospital, where he had an operation to remove an intestinal blockage, and the Coach was grateful for the ‘support and affection’ he received.

“These have been difficult days, which I was able to overcome thanks to the presence and professionalism of the medical and nursing staff in the emergency surgery department of Santa Maria Annunziata hospital,” wrote the 51-year-old on Instagram.

“I’ve received the support and affection of my family members, players, club, friends, SPAL colleagues and fans who didn’t fail to make me feel like I was on the field in Reggio Emilia.

“My staff allowed me to stay calm, leading the team against Sassuolo excellently. Now we start over!

“[I’m] stronger and more determined than before. Let’s go!”
