Leonardo Semplici is flattered to be linked with Napoli but insists he is ‘happy’ and ‘focused’ on SPAL.

The Biancazzurri Coach is reported in some quarters to be on the radar of the Partenopei, with Maurizio Sarri’s future at the San Paolo appearing to hang in the balance.

However, Semplici says his attention is solely focused on keeping his current club in Serie A.

“Being linked to certain clubs is testimony to the work done at this club and by my staff,” the 50-year-old told a Press conference.

“However, I am extremely focused on SPAL.

“I have a contract for next season and I am very happy here.”

With three matches remaining of the season, SPAL are one point clear of the relegation zone and host already-relegated Benevento this afternoon.

“I don’t like having to win at all costs. The fact Benevento can play with freedom is the worst thing for us.

“In the second half of the season, they have shown different characteristics compared to the first half thanks to the great transfer window they had.

“The psychological aspect will be decisive. If this team weren’t physically and psychologically right, we wouldn’t have played the way we did in the second half against Verona.”
