Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici said Nahitan Nandez ‘has never been out of the squad’ as the Uruguayan starts the first game against Spezia after the transfer market controversy this summer.

Nandez was pushing for a move to Inter this summer and has also been linked with a possible transfer abroad.
The Uruguayan returned later than the others to training due to his international duties this summer and was reportedly asking for a move to Inter when he didn’t turn up for the trip to Mallorca for a pre-season friendly.
Toinight, he starts against Spezia and Semplici said the 25-year-old has apologised to his teammates.
“He has never been out of the squad,” Semplici told DAZN ahead of the game. “The lad has always trained with us.
“There have been some misunderstandings, but he apologised to the club, the group, but above all to the President, so he’s available.
“He’s a player of great quality, so he will start from the first minute.”
