Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici confirms Nahitan Nandez has not been called up for their Coppa Italia tie against Pisa due to ‘disciplinary reasons.’

Their season officially begins tomorrow with the Coppa Italia First Round, but Uruguay international Nandez will not be taking part, as he continues to battle with the club asking for a move to Inter.

“The director of sport and President take care of the transfer market,” said Semplici during his press conference.

“Diego Godin is available, because despite being in the Copa America, he trained and is in good shape. Nandez is not available due to disciplinary reasons.”

Radja Nainggolan won’t be coming to Cagliari either, as today he had his medical to sign a two-year contract with Royal Antwerp.

“I wish him all the best, but I am concentrated on the players at my disposal,” noted the coach.

“I can see a different mentality in the squad compared to last season and we are ready to start strong.”
