Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici felt the 4-1 result against Milan was ‘a little harsh’ considering the performances.
Alessandro Deiola’s header had cancelled out the Sandro Tonali free kick, but a deflected Rafael Leao strike and Olivier Giroud brace sealed the scoreline by half-time.
“The result is a little harsh considering, even though Milan deserve a lot of credit,” Semplici told DAZN.
“Some incidents didn’t go our way, which is a pity, as we had equalised right away and then conceded that deflected goal. If the balance had remained a little longer, it might’ve been a different match.
“Despite the result, I didn’t see such a negative performance. The penalty was unlucky too, as it was a matter of inches from people outside the box.
“Unfortunately, once we went 2-1 down in unlucky circumstances, we started to get too frenetic. The third goal came from a mistaken Andrea Carboni pass and we lost confidence at that point.”
Hello. And Bye.
That’s why we are Milan
