Semplici says that he wants to see his side react against the Viola.
“We will have to have a reaction and show a desire to win from what we saw against Verona,” said Semplici in a press conference.
“Fiorentina is a team that started the season with other objectives, but we must have the desire to get the points that are important for our journey.
“Against Verona we gave the impression that we didn’t want to win the game, there was little hunger. We will try to repeat the performance shown against Torino.”
Midfielder Jasmin Kurtic left the club for Parma this week, and Semplici says it was his decision.
“He asked to leave. The club did well because his sale will allow us to acquire other players. In the best interests of the club, we need to keep people who are willing and motivated to fight relegation.
“I thank him for what he has done in these two years and I wish him all the best.”
The club signed midfielder Bryan Dabo from Fiorentina, so what does Semplici expect from the player?
“He is a physically important player, with experience and who can play in two areas of the pitch very well.
“For our midfield he can make us better. He’s good, but he certainly hasn’t played much. He’s always trained well. He will need time, but it’s up to us to keep him in the right condition.”
SPAL have been linked with former player Kevin Bonifazi, and Semplici says it would be great to have him back.
“You all know the esteem the club has towards him. It would be a welcome return.
“I won’t say other things because at the moment there is nothing concrete.
“Talking about a player who isn’t here seems inappropriate to me, but if there is a probability to bring him back, then we will see.”
