Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici said returnee Diego Farias will be ‘available’ and would like to replace Giovanni Simeone with a ‘certain type of striker’.

Leonardo Pavoletti and Joao Pedro started up front against Spezia, when the Brazilian scored a brace to help the Casteddu bounce back and claim a point after going 0-2 down.

Moving on from the 2-2 draw in the first leg, Semplici revealed Farias, who returned from a stint on loan at Spezia last term, is available to play against Milan on Sunday.

“Farias is part of the list of available players,” Semplici said at a press conference. “On the market, I repeat what I said a week ago, I hope that every exit corresponds to an entry by Tuesday.”

The Casteddu coach looks for ‘a certain type of striker’ to replace Giovanni Simeone, who has moved to Hellas Verona.

“We would like a certain type of striker, but we need to understand what the market can present,” he added. “First of all, we will also see the human aspect.

“There’s not a great choice and we will have to take players who will help us grow from a technical point of view, and to help build our character.”
