Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici said the 1-0 win against Udinese was a ‘great satisfaction’ and praised Brazilian forward Joao Pedro.
Cagliari sit three points behind Benevento and Torino in the relegation battle and Joao Pedro’s goal against the Friuli secured back-to-back wins for Semplici’s men.
“Even today we put down a great performance against a strong team, on a pitch where Atalanta and Inter had drawn,” Semplici told Sky Sport Italia.

“Even today we put down a great performance against a strong team, on a pitch where Atalanta and Inter had drawn,” Semplici told Sky Sport Italia.
“Having given continuity and winning while suffering is a great satisfaction.”
The former SPAL coach said Cagliari ‘shouldn’t be in this position’, as they sit 18th after 32 games.
“This team shouldn’t be in this position, but if we play with this humility, the performances will come,” he said. “We have the players with important technical qualities.”
Joao Pedro was again vital for the Casteddu and Semplici said the Brazilian is ‘one of the best’ at the Rossoblu.
“There are several,” he continued. “But he is for sure one of the best.
“But there are also others.”
Semplici continued to talk about his relationship with Radja Nainggolan.
“We have an excellent relationship with him as with the others, otherwise you wouldn’t get these performances,” the coach said.
“Radja is our balance, he can play in many positions and when he does it in this way, he shifts the balance and gives us a big hand.”
