Dutchman Seedorf is increasingly seen as on his way back to San Siro this week to be appointed as Max Allegri’s replacement on the bench.

The Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that a two-and-a-half-year deal has been agreed with the 37-year-old and all that remains to formalise it are a few smaller details, including the make up of his backroom staff.

Reportedly Hernan Crespo and Jaap Stam are names Seedorf wants to bring in from the summer, to assist in developing an approach where specialist Coaches will oversee each department of the team.

From now, it is believed that Valerio Fiori will oversee goalkeeper coaching duties and physical preparation will be overseen by Bruno Dominici.

For Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie at home to Spezia, long-serving assistant Coach Mauro Tassotti will direct proceedings.

Whilst the 53-year-old is then seen as set to provisionally return to his usual role under Seedorf, it is being reported that the former defender will then leave the position in the summer. Tassotti was youth team Coach at Milan from 1997 to 2001, before then being promoted to assistant, where he has served since.

Seedorf is expected to arrive in Milan on Thursday, report in at Milanello on Friday, speak to the media on Saturday and debut on the bench on Sunday against Verona. Sport Mediaset, however, believe that he may be in town in time to watch Wednesday’s match with Spezia.
