Clarence Seedorf believes ‘stability’ at club level is why Gennaro Gattuso will outlast him as Milan Coach.
Seedorf returned to take charge of Milan in January 2014 but left just six five months later, his tenure overshadowed by austerity and constant talk of a takeover, while Gattuso recently signed a contract to lead the Rossoneri for the next three seasons.
“I think the big difference between Gattuso and I is the club,” the Dutchman told Fox Sports.

“There was no calm when I was there. I certainly paid for things that weren’t football-related.
“There was a general sense of confusion, which went on until the club were sold. It was a huge disappointment and pain for me personally not to have stayed on for longer.
“I’m sorry because I’d quit football to coach my team, who were in need. We did well, picking up 35 points [from 19 games], but it’s not only about that.
“I’m glad Gattuso has found more stability, and that’s made a difference. I’m happy their fans can go back to having a bit of peace and certainty. They’re seeing something better overall.”
