See: Mural in Brescia dedicated to ex-coach Mazzone

Local artist Michele Battagliola has painted a mural in the streets of Brescia dedicated to former coach Carlo Mazzone, who sadly passed away this summer.

Mazzone, who coached various stars in his career from Roberto Baggio and Pep Guardiola to Andrea Pirlo and Luca Toni, died at the age of 86 on August 19, prompting all Serie A matches at the start of the season to hold a minute’s silence in honour.

The legendary coach was most famous for an incident in a derby between Brescia and Atalanta, where he ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate the final equaliser in front of the Atalanta ultras, the incident captured in Battagliola’s mural.
