Udinese striker Gerard Deulofeu congratulated Milan defender Pierre Kalulu on Instagram following a stunning defensive recovery on Saturday.
The Rossoneri beat Andrea Sottil’s side 4-2 in the first Serie A game of the season at San Siro.
Kalulu was one of the standout performers for the Diavoli and the highlight of his match was a defensive recovery to deny ex-Milan striker Deulofeu.
The Spaniard seemed to have time and space to score from a counter-attack, but Kalulu read the action well, went in the right direction and blocked his opponent’s shot.
Serie A’s official Instagram account has shown the action on Instagram and Deulofeu commented on the post, congratulating the Rossoneri defender who became a regular starter in Milan’s defence last season.
I’ve still got fond memories of Deulofeu. He was a bright spark in a dark time for Milan fans. Why we failed to invest in him but continued to invest in failures like Bertolacci and Biglia I’ll never know.
The guy has always loved Milan. Always wanted to come back. Shame he never did.
