Lazio captain Stefano Mauri insists it doesn’t matter whether the Aquile finish second or third, as long as they make the Champions League.

The Biancocelesti were surpassed by city rivals Roma at the weekend, with the Lupi moving up to second, but Mauri insists the focus is just on finishing within the top three.

“We’re are doing well,” Mauri told reporters at a charity match organised by Javier Zanetti.

“We’re performing above expectations. We hope to get into the Champions League.
