Lasse Schone has become the second Genoa player to test positive for COVID-19, ruling him out of tonight’s trip to Napoli in Serie A.

Genoa have already had to deal with the loss of Mattia Perin, who was diagnosed with the virus yesterday.

Now, a second round of swabs confirmed Schone was carrying COVID too and he has not travelled to the San Paolo.

However, the rest of the squad tested negative and have made their way to Naples as normal.

The Grifone are only departing today as they opted to stay overnight in a nearby hotel to avert the risk of another player catching coronavirus.

The situation with Perin had already forced the kick-off time for Napoli-Genoa to be pushed back to 17:00 UK time (18:00 CET).
