Simone Scuffet kept a clean sheet on his Serie A debut against Bologna and the 17-year-old Udinese ‘keeper had a special dedication.

The home-grown teenager had not expected to make his first top flight appearance today, but Zeljko Brkic pulled out during the warm-up and he was rushed in at the last minute.

It proved an inspired debut, as he kept a clean sheet in Udinese’s 2-0 win away to Bologna.

“I never expected to play this game, but in the warm-up Brkic had a problem and the Coach decided to send me out,” Scuffet told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was an incredible feeling, as a Friulano experiences marvellous sensations having this Udinese jersey on his back.

“Today’s victory will help us to emerge from a dangerous position in the table, so we are calmer now.

“Dedication? I dedicate this game to my beloved Friuli region.”
