Luiz Felipe Scolari warned “it won’t be easy” for Neymar to recover for the Brazil-Germany semi-final.

The striker was stretchered off in agony after receiving a knee in the back from Juan Camilo Zuniga in the 2-1 quarter-final victory over Colombia.

“Neymar has been sent to a private clinic with the doctor because he was kneed in the lower back, which didn’t even result in a booking,” Coach Scolari said in his Press conference.

“He was crying in pain. It won’t be easy for him to recover based on the fact that it's a back injury and with the pain he’s in. Let’s hope everything goes OK.”

Hosts Brazil face Germany on Tuesday evening and will already be without Thiago Silva, who picked up a ban.

Meanwhile, Scolari also explained the work that went into David Luiz’s spectacular goal against Colombia.

“He studied the videos of Marcelinho taking free kicks for Corinthians and tried to hit the ball in the same way.”
