“It was not an easy match and it required an excellent defensive performance. We covered the spaces and allowed very few scoring opportunities.
“We understood the game and tried to play from the back, but are not satisfied with the attacking performance.
“Juventus showed their quality and we are satisfied to have snatched a point off them.”
Manchester City beat Sevilla 2-1 in stoppages with a Kevin de Bruyne strike, so the English club are now one point off leaders Juve.
“I don’t know how the next Champions League games will go, but when we play it has to be at 100 per cent and we’ll do everything we can to win. The table is not as important as the performance.”
Gladbach had a similar situation to Sevilla, as they too were leading only to be beaten by a stoppage-time penalty. Does Schubert see big differences between the sides?
“It’s tough to make comparisons. City put in a great performance, but so did we. In the Champions League you can never tell what will happen.
“Juve played well tactically and were well-organised. City are stronger in the one-on-one situations, but they are on more or less the same level.”
