Bayer Leverkusen Coach Roger Schmidt believes his side have a 50 per cent chance of beating Lazio in the Champions League.
The German side were drawn with the Aquile for the play-off round, and will travel to Rome for the first leg on August 18 or 19.
“It’s not a shock,” Schmidt told Eurosport.
“I always expect the worst in these situations. The chances of going through are 50-50. We have the second leg at home, and that’s a good thing.

“I think we can do well in Rome. We definitely want to play in this season’s Champions League.”
The club’s sporting director Rudi Voller is a former Giallorossi player and Coach, and also gave his opinion on the tie.
“They know how to play good football, and with Monaco are the team most similar to us. We’re all on the same level. Rome is a beautiful city.”
