Schillaci tribute ahead of Italy-Belgium at Stadio Olimpico

There will be a special tribute to Italia ’90 legend Totò Schillaci ahead of tomorrow’s Nations League match between Italy and Belgium.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

This is the first time the Azzurri have played since his death on September 18, at the age of 59.

Schillaci became a legend at the Stadio Olimpico

The centre-forward won the Golden Boot as top scorer in the 1990 World Cup, where he found the net six times, four of them at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Before kick-off, video of those goals and celebrations will be played on the big screens inside the arena, playing to the theme song of the tournament: Notti Magiche.

The lights will also go down and ’19, Schillaci’ will be displayed in the centre circle, with a light show in the Tribuna Tevere too.

Fans in the crowd are urged to participate by holding up their phones.

In his entire Italy career, Schillaci scored seven goals in 16 caps.
