Patrik Schick’s agent has confirmed that the striker is staying at Roma but admitted next season will be make or break for his client.

Schick is Roma’s record signing at €42m, but the Czech has scored just eight goals in his two seasons with the Giallorossi.

Nonetheless, Pavel Paska told idnes.cz: “I was in Rome last week. The Coach and sporting director have changed, but for us, however, nothing has changed.

“Next season will be decisive for Patrik. Coaches change, but clubs remain. I repeat this often to my players: don’t complain and work!

“He’s focused on being able to respect the huge expectations that rest on him, but Schick has character. He just needs to be a bit more aggressive.

“I’m absolutely not worried about his lack of goals. He must compete with Dzeko, Perotti, El Shaarawy, Pastore and Kluivert.

“Of course we’d be much happier if he scored 10 goals, but Patrik is still young. I don’t recommend him leaving in the summer.”

However, the represent did accept the forthcoming campaign would be an ‘exam’ for the ex-Sampdoria attacker.

“He’s learned a lot about football and at the top of the club’s preferences. I think next season will be an exam for him.”
