Patrik Schick insists “there’s no difference between Roma and Juventus” after completing a move to the Giallorossi.

The striker had agreed a deal to join Juve earlier this summer, but he failed his medical due to a heart issue and he instead joined the Lupi in a €42m deal.

“What happened with Juventus belongs in the past,” Schick shrugged in his presentation Press conference.

“I’m happy to be at Roma. I’ve never released interviews on the clubs who allegedly wanted me, after the end of the Under-21 European Championships I never talked about it.

“There’s no difference between Roma and Juventus, both have big ambitions and I’ve always liked Roma.

“I can’t wait to play, it will be my first contact with the Roma fans after seeing them at the airport.

“Do we want to win the Scudetto? Of course. I know that Roma came second and several new players have come in, we really hope we can have a good season and do great things.”

It’s been reported that Francesco Totti was crucial in bringing Schick to Roma – though the former captain said the text was in English so he couldn’t understand it anyway…

“It’s true, we talked via text but it was a private message and what we said will stay between us. It’s a secret.”

It’s expected Schick will play on the right of a front-three, having played through the middle for Sampdoria, has he played on the wing for his national team?

“In the national team I’ve always played as a centre-forward,” the Czech responded.

“That’s the role I’m most used to. I don’t have any problem playing on the right though, I tend to come inside anyway and shoot on my left foot.”
