Patrik Schick has confirmed that he ‘absolutely’ wants to stay at RB Leipzig, who are reported to be asking Roma for a 50 percent discount.

Schick made a slow start to his season-long loan at Leipzig but has not looked back since November, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 19 appearances.

With the German side reserving a €29m option to buy this summer, the 24-year-old is keen on turning his stay permanent.

“I can absolutely see myself staying,” he told Kicker.

“The club has to find a solution now and I’ll be happy if they can.”

However, sport.ceskatelevize.cz warns Leipzig are hoping the Giallorossi will accept just €14.5m, in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Pavel Paska informed the website: “They’re very happy with him. Things are looking clear.”

It remains to be seen whether Roma will cut their losses to that extent, given they committed to paying Sampdoria a club-record €42m for him in 2017.
