Benevento midfielder Pasquale Schiattarella said ‘it’s always nice to score’ and claimed he didn’t deserve a red card in the 1-1 draw with Lazio.
The Streghe shared the spoils with the Biancocelesti on Tuesday and Schiattarella had been the man of the match before he was sent off for a tackle on Joaquin Correa in stoppages.
The 33-year-old’s volley helped secure a point for the home side, his first in 39 games for Benevento.

The 33-year-old’s volley helped secure a point for the home side, his first in 39 games for Benevento.
“It’s always nice to score. Especially for me, who don’t score enough,” he said. “I was close against Juventus and against Lazio I succeeded.”
But he was not happy with the direct red card for his foul on Correa.
“I don’t want to be controversial, but I think a yellow card would have been enough.”
Benevento are 15th in the League after 12 games and have followed a losing streak of five games only one defeat in the last five.
“I only look at the table in March or April. We must do our job and reach 40 points as soon as possible,” Schiattarella said.
“We had taken into account that this year would have been complicated, and it’s always like that the first year in Serie A.
“The club, however, fared well and we can count on a team that are ready to fight and a technical staff that are extremely prepared.”
