Milan continue with a trip to Serbia for the first leg against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League round of 32, followed by another Derby della Madonnina this weekend.
President Scaroni spoke of the Diavolo’s moment to Radio Rai and said his team are ‘confident’ and take ‘one match at a time’.
“We at Milan don’t get excited when we are first and we don’t lose hope when we are second,” Scaroni said.
“We look ahead, take one match at a time and try to do our best. Now, we travel to Belgrade, then we have the derby.
“I’m not afraid of a general depression, I’m convinced that the atmosphere at Milanello is excellent.
“The match against Spezia was a bit of a surprise for everyone, but I’m confident. We care a lot about the Europa League.
“Then the derby will be a key moment. This week will tell us a lot about the rest of the season. The championship has never been so good, we are all enjoying the tight table. Inter, Milan and Juventus seem to be the favourites, but I don’t rule out any surprises.”
