Chief Football Officer Boban was fired yesterday due to his public criticism of Gazidis, claiming the CEO had “gone behind our backs” to contact coach Ralf Rangnick for next season.

In another interview with Il Giornale today, Boban hit out again at Gazidis and confirmed he will sue the club for unfair dismissal.

“The interests of Milan must always be above those of individuals,” President Scaroni told news agency ANSA.

“I stand with our CEO Ivan Gazidis, we are all determined to get the club going in the right direction, that of growth and competitivity.”

Serie A games must be played behind closed doors until at least April 3 due to the Coronavirus outbreak, although some members of staff are allowed in the stands for Milan-Genoa this afternoon.

“I will be watching from home, just like our fans,” continued Scaroni. “I wish Stefano Pioli and the team a warm wish of good luck for today’s game and I remain optimistic for the remaining matches of the 2019-20 season.”
