Gianluca Scamacca is ready to return to Italy after a year with West Ham and reportedly is open to both Roma and Milan.

The 24-year-old striker left Sassuolo for the Hammers last summer in a deal worth around €36m, signing a five-year contract with an option for a sixth in East London. His first year at the club was relatively quiet, picking up eight goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Scamacca has attracted the attention of multiple Italian clubs this summer, but Roma are in particular are keen to snap up the 24-year-old, needing to bolster their attack following the serious injury suffered by Tammy Abraham.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Scamacca has given priority to Roma following an agreement made with director Tiago Pinto, but this doesn’t mean he would turn down Milan.

The 24-year-old would still be happy to join the Rossoneri but is willing to wait for Jose Mourinho’s side for the time being.

Talks with West Ham are still ongoing. The English side are not interested in a loan deal, only willing to sell in a definitive transfer.

  1. Let Roma have him. He isn’t the answer for Milan or Italy in my opinion. Might have all the attributes of a Luca Toni but that’s where the similarities end cos let’s face it he’s overated. Imobile is better than crapmacca and that’s saying something.
